My name is Shane, and I’ve been working as a heating engineer and plumber in West London for decades. I started Hammersmith Heating to offer something straightforward – reliable work, honest advice, and a tradesperson who actually turns up when they say they will.
Too many people have been let down by engineers who don’t communicate, send someone different every time, or disappear once the invoice is paid. That’s not how I do things.
When you contact Hammersmith Heating, you get me. I do the estimate, I do the work, and if anything isn’t right, I come back and sort it.

A few things people often ask before getting in touch.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes – I’m fully Gas Safe registered, which means I’m legally qualified to carry out gas work including boiler installations, repairs and gas safety inspections. You can verify Hammersmith Heating on the official Gas Safe Register before you book.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes, always. I’ll give you a clear, honest estimate before any work begins – no call-out charge, no obligation. If the job changes once I’m there, I’ll talk you through it before proceeding.
Will I always deal with you, or do you send other engineers?
You’ll always deal with me. I’m a one-man operation – I do the estimate, I do the job. There are no subcontractors or strangers turning up at your door.
How quickly can you come out?
For most jobs I can usually get to you within a day or two. For urgent issues I’ll do my best to fit you in sooner – just call or WhatsApp me directly and I’ll let you know what I can do.
Do you work on all boiler makes and models?
Yes – I work on all the main makes and models including ATAG, Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Viessmann and more. If you’re not sure whether I can help with yours, just ask.
I'm a landlord - can you handle gas safety certificates?
Absolutely. I carry out CP12 gas safety inspections for landlords and letting agents across West London, with full documentation provided on the day. I can also combine this with an annual boiler service to save you a separate call-out.
Why do you use an e-cargo bike instead of a van?
I switched during lockdown and never looked back. The bike means I can use cycle routes across West London, so I’m rarely held up by congestion or hunting for parking. It helps me arrive on time and keeps things simpler – for me and for the streets around here.

I’m based in Hammersmith (W6) and cover the surrounding West London areas – including Chiswick, Fulham, Shepherd’s Bush, Barnes, Putney, Kensington, Brook Green, West Kensington, Ravenscourt Park, Stamford Brook and Turnham Green.
