Legal obligations

Your legal obligations as a landlord

Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, landlords must have all gas appliances and flues inspected annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The certificate must be given to existing tenants within 28 days and to new tenants before they move in.
